I am building your mini longboard and I just finished the gluing the rails (pretty slick btw) and gluing the top deck on. This is my first build and it is starting to look good, so I don't want to screw it up now! I want to add the outer nose blocks, but I am afraid to cut it unless I am sure that I am doing it right. I guess I have 2 questions: 1. How do I know how much to cut off? 2. How big should I make the blocks? I want to get started on it tomorrow so if you can help me ASAP that would be great!

Hello Surfsalot! You want the blocks to be big enough to continue the curve into the nose. I think that the easiest method would be to take a pencil and sketch the finished nose shape on the board after you get the rails roughed in, you want to start your nose block just about where the sketch mark meets the outer rail, maybe a little bit closer to the nose than that since you will have a lot of rail stock up there to allow the shape to be tweaked. Now make a mark about 1 1/2" from the nose of the board, right in the center. Lightly scribe a line from the center mark to each outer rail edge where your arc begins. now stand back and take a look at it, see if it looks like you want it to, make adjustments if needed. now measure the widest point in your sketched noseblock and that will be how thick you need to make your block, I usually add an extra 1/2 to ensure I don't end up with flat spots. I hope that covered everything!
