my first attempt at the 11.5 just got the top on today ready to start shaping in the morning. I didnt want to bore you with pics of the guts they are pretty much generic, they only thing i did differant was add 6 suport strips .5 in wide 3 on each side of the skin across the beam it made the the skins easier to handle by myself and probably helped stop seperation when i glued the skins on i just left space for the spine and plced them between the ribs. It has been a great learning experience I used pochote and laurel(dark) lots of nice wood here in costa rica the board wieghs 33 pounds as it is feels like more. I also added addition support for the laurel strips crossing the beam Attachments:

Greetings mpatter894!!!
Awesome looking board! 33 lbs doesn't sound that bad for an 11.5! I think my 9 1 came in just over 30lbs!
Your comments about the lots of nice wood in costa rica puts a grin on my face, I seem to spend most of my time looking for good wood! I'll also have to do some research on pochote since that one is not familiar too me.
Be sure to show us some shots of your shaping, especially when you down to glassing!
Enjoy!
