This will be my first attempt at building a SUP board and Paddle. I thought starting with the paddle would be a good way to get going so today I got the buck just about done.
I need to make a trip to Harbor Freight for some cheap clamps to put on the paddle area but for the most part a wood strap and the bolts should hold it snug. I may add more carriage bolts with wing nuts, Im not sure about how far apart the spacing should be to hold down the pieces when glued.
Here is a picture of the buck so far, its two treated 2X4's screwed together with a third 2 X 4 on the edge to cut down on any twisting. the upsweep for the paddle area is two 2 x 4's that pivot to the angle needed and will have 1/2" plywood top so I can get the buck flat when not in use to hang on the wall.
I am just about ready to start the paddle :-) A friend of mine is going to drop off his paddle so I can take some measurements to get a better guess how long I need to make mine, so I am going to hold off cutting anything till its here.
