Hello. I live in Cocoa Beach and I ride my 9' 2" performance longboard and a 8' Mini Longboard most often. How old is he and what experience does he have surfing?

Yesterday I posted pics of my build progress from my computer using the attachment block. I have used this to post all pics.....but when I tried to post a drawing in my thread,"Sanders", the attachment box was missing......Did I do something wrong...?

Access. I am not sure what to tell you, it should always show up unless you aren't logged in. Unless the forum has some MB limit per day or maybe overall for user posts. I'll tyy to investigate but please let me know if it works itself out. Chad

Greetings gimpel!!! Welcome to the zoo! Lots of good help out here, sometimes takes a bit of time to get a response from the crowd (except Chad!) so just have some patience. What kind of wood will you be using for the deck? What size board are you building?

vilan...
11 ft, i guess... for my first attempt, i will use pine to minimize cost... havent thought as far as epoxy vs. resin (or whatever) when i glass...
i have SUP'd a handful of times, and i love it...
i like the idea of building a 'short deck' 3 ft long, made of bamboo... i will research and report what i find...
i get the impression that the quality of the wood is very important... somewhere i read a suggestion to order by mail or online rather than buy local... any recommendations on where to buy wood online, or does anyone know where to buy quality wood near NE Ohio?...
regards... gimpel

gimpel, There are lots of places online to find wood, this is one of them: woodsurfboardsupply.com/wood_kits.htmlBut you can find wood closer and a lot cheaper than online. Home Depot carries up to 12' cedar, but you've got to be very selective looking for a lack of knots and a hopefully straight grain. I found a true lumberyard a couple of miles away and had a great time rumaging through their piles. I wasn't all that successful in getting knot-free wood so I've started to keep my eyes open and try to find a good cheap source. Probably one of the largest challenges in building seems to be getting the good wood. Best of luck to you!
