Fin and hot coat on!! I could ride this thing in a few days. But first spar varnish. Deck side hot coat had some sags and fish eye spots to fix. Second time I worked it better. Attachments:

Fantastic, just in time for the summer. The fin looks excellent, nice bit of crafting. How tall/long is the fin, I'm getting close to this part and not clear on what type of fin to go for...mine will be removable as I think I might change it depending on wether the waves are any good or just paddling.
I've asked Chad but as you're in the middle of it, can you tell me how much Resin you needed to cover the board, and how many coats you gave it apart from the spar varnish.
I'm finally getting ready to place the top deck and planning to go individual strips. Photos coming soon.

Beautiful work. I'm even more impressed with your patience. I found myself rushing quite a bit when I built my 9' longboard.
Have you weighed the board yet? I want to build a SUP next and I'm really worried about the weight.

Raymond I haven't weighed it at this point but the last time I did it was 55lbs. I'll do a weigh before the spar varnish and post it. I'll then do a final weight. I hope to have it out on the lake this weekend. My brother has a boat and I hope to try some wake surfing. Maybe I'll have a video to post.

Got the rack installed. Doesn't fit in the garage though.

Ha ha! sweet looking set up, you'll just have to place a sign on the garage door "remove board before entering!"

Final weight 65lbs I only have 2 coats of spar varnish so I'll add a few more ounces after I finish 6 coats. This thing is a pain to get out of the basement.

My total weight with 2 coats of spar varnish is 65lbs. A bit heavy. My fin may a bit large too. Turning is a little difficult. I may do some trimming on that at the end of the season. I can paddle hard in a straight line with little drift.

Attempted some wake surfing this is my best after a few attempts.need a bigger wake to make this easier. The board is super stable at 10 mph went up to 18 holding on to a ski rope. My ten year old niece had a blast riding it behind the boat.
